Disrespectful toward interviewees and stood me up for the interview
About 10 years ago, I received an interview invitation through 104. HR said the interviewer had scheduled a morning interview in the north for a position in Nanke. Naturally, the company required candidates not to be late, which was perfectly reasonable. Since the job was in the south, I took leave the day before and stayed at a hotel near the company in the north. I had to arrive at the company on time at 8:30 a.m. to avoid being late for the interview.
When I arrived, HR said the interviewer had gone out and was unavailable, and asked me to fill out a test first, saying the interviewer would be back shortly. I finished the test before 10 a.m., but by noon, no one had asked whether I wanted water or lunch. They simply left me waiting in a small room all day. At noon, I couldn't take it anymore, so I went out to ask HR. They then told me to walk downstairs and find somewhere outside to eat on my own, and come back to wait for the interviewer after finishing my meal.
I continued waiting until 3 p.m., then went to ask about it. They said the manager was still busy and asked whether I wanted to have the interview the next day instead. I was furious and asked whether none of the other senior engineers were available. HR said they would look for a substitute interviewer. After waiting for about another hour, an interviewer finally appeared. His expertise was PLC electrical controls, while I was interviewing for a vision engineer position. He asked me some electrical-control questions, then said he didn't know anything about vision-related topics. The interview ended within 10 minutes, and I was told to go home and wait for notification.
Of course, I wasn't hired. Fortunately, I wasn't. After changing jobs twice, I eventually managed to earn a monthly salary of NT$120,000 at another company in southern Taiwan. This was truly the worst interview experience ever.
