Pros

1. You need to be extremely healthy! (If you don’t meet your performance targets, you can’t leave work, and you need tremendous physical stamina to cope with going to work the next day 🧛‍♂️)

2. Your heart needs to be in good condition (If you don’t meet your targets on promotional days, you’ll be angrily berated on the spot, bombarded with sarcastic remarks, and relentlessly mocked. Your heart has to be strong enough to survive 🫀)

3. You need to have quite a bit of savings (Because when you don’t meet your targets, the supervisor will use subtle, forceful, and indirect ways to guide you into buying courses and persuade you to attend classes. Just think: you haven’t even earned any money yet, and you already have to pay out 💸)

4. You should be planning to get pregnant and have children! Those who want to bring honor to the country by increasing the birth rate are a great fit (because as soon as the company finds out you’re pregnant, it will do everything it can to make you resign early! Then you can go home and prepare for childbirth early 🤰🏼)

5. Be an online celebrity (As soon as you start work, you’re online and monitored by the company and the supervisor, as well as watched through surveillance cameras! A live-action reality show 🤳🏻)

6. Don’t be afraid of being bored at work (As soon as you start work, you’ll have to handle trainees’ refund requests—and refunds are deducted from your salary. Someone once received only NT$700 in salary for an entire month 🥹)

7. Use overtime to build relationships with your coworkers (Don’t even think about overtime pay. If you ask the company for overtime pay, you’ll immediately be put on the company’s blacklist! You’ll be packing up and leaving very soon 😏)

8. Have a good relationship with the trainees and the company (Someone I know had previously bought courses that they were unable to attend. When they went to a branch to request a refund, the company refused to refund them. The trainee was so angry that they filed a complaint with the Consumer Protection Officer. Eventually, the matter even came to the attention of the Education Bureau. The company then joined forces with the Taichung front desk staff to lie that the trainee had to sign a refund consent form before receiving a refund (solely to conceal the fact that the refund had not been issued and to deal with the Education Bureau). As a result, eight months have passed and the trainee still has not received their NT$220,000 in tuition fees back. It feels somewhat similar to going to the Philippines to work in a scam operation ☺️

This truly challenging job is perfect for people brave enough to go to the interview 😁
