Basically, as long as you build a good relationship with clients and know a few communication techniques, you can live quite comfortably. As long as you have thick enough skin, schedule pressure has nothing to do with you, and KPIs will not hold you back either, since no one even knows how they are calculated. You might as well enjoy yourself. It is very suitable for relaxing while pursuing side gigs, then jumping ship once you have enough of them. As long as you are lucky enough to keep getting external projects, you basically will not be caught and assigned tasks that, no matter how you look at them, are not part of the sales scope.
Sometimes you may suddenly be asked to work on internal POCs. The key issue is that the hardware and software for the POC may be something you have never even touched before. Internal handovers are haphazard, and some information is not archived at all and can only be passed on verbally, so a particular technology could be lost at any time. The manager responsible for assigning work is neither firm nor flexible.
