Pros

The advantage is that here you can temper your will and become a calmer, better person!

After leaving here, you can develop in all directions, because every day you have to deal with a giant baby who requires special education. So you can pursue a career in special education. And because the supervisor (aka the boss) enjoys being a constant liability every day, you often need to take on ten people by yourself, training you to handle the big picture alone.

Of course, it can also make you become someone who is easier to satisfy.

There are too many advantages to count!

The following is for Mr. Mai and Ms. Chang:

Since the company began operating, every time, the employees have collectively resigned.

A small company with fewer than eight people at full capacity can have more than a dozen people leave within just a few months. Mr. Mai and Ms. Chang, shouldn’t you take a step back and examine whether you, as the bosses, have fallen short in running the company?

Whether it is managing employees, the company’s cash flow, or even what the company actually wants to do at this point: Do you want to seriously continue pursuing contracts, or continue foolishly devoting yourselves to political figures?

As the bosses and managers, shouldn’t you think this through?

You always blame all the mistakes on former employees.

When you can’t win a contract, it’s the former employees’ fault; when you get blacklisted, it’s the former employees’ fault.

But think carefully: the company has been operating for almost ten years now. Could everything really be the employees’ fault?

If the boss knew how to properly maintain personal relationships instead of hiding in a dark sound-control room like a shut-in at every event; if the boss were sufficiently attentive, serious, and responsible when working, the company would not have ended up in its current state.

Be serious and responsible, okay? Don’t spend big money to save a little money while merely treating the symptoms instead of the cause.

Finally,

Although I’m not asking you to be especially generous, if you want to start a company and be the boss, you should understand that being a boss requires breadth of vision, and that you need to be magnanimous—not act like a petty, narrow-minded elementary school student who gives you the silent treatment whenever they get angry.

With such a narrow outlook, it is difficult to survive even in an ordinary corporate workplace. (We even joked privately that perhaps Mr. Mai could only start his own company because he couldn’t adapt to a regular workplace.)

As a former employee, this is all I have to say.

But I still sincerely want to tell everyone who has received an interview invitation and is considering going: Run, you deserve a better job.

Cons

Same as above.
