Pros

“Do you have a dream? No matter how big! Write it down and tell me—I’ll help you achieve your dream, because I’ve already helped so-and-so achieve theirs!” On your very first day at work, the boss starts selling you grand promises. If you enjoy daydreaming, feel free to come here and experience it for yourself—the boss will draw you grand visions together with you.

Then you’ll discover that the boss has clear logic and a sharp way of thinking, and will teach you all kinds of schemes for manipulating others: clients, property owners, vendors, competitors, and employees. When you go to meetings with him, you’ll also learn how to insult competitors in front of property owners without using profanity (basically, all kinds of badmouthing).

The boss buys cars and houses himself (as far as I know, he has more than two in Taipei), watches (worth six figures or more), and an office in a prime location, followed by seven-figure renovations (you can look up the location). Yet he told me that the company’s employees were paid too much. Gifts for clients during the three major holidays? Sure—but there’s no need to give anything to his own employees.

In short, it’s all incredibly over-the-top. Anyone who wants to broaden their horizons can come and see for themselves~

Cons

The boss constantly finds new ways to show just how low he can go. At the company, we’re all supposed to call him “the big boss” (though apparently none of the old employees do). The bonus percentage is pitifully small, yet it still has to be split among many people, and all kinds of costs are charged to employees. Even when the boss wants to invest in a project himself, he’ll tell you: “Look, it’s true that you’re paying part of the money now, but you’ll also get a share of the profits later.” But his real plan is that after you resign, the entire project belongs to him and all the profits go to him (because even though the previous employees paid part of it, he never said he would share the profits with us after making money).

Then he told female employees to develop a temporary staffing business, asking them to go alone to places like Wanhua to look for lists of homeless people. When they refused out of concern for their personal safety, he asked them whether they knew what workplace ethics were. Seriously, why doesn’t the boss ask his wife or daughter to do it?

A large number of old employees resigned around the same time. When only two employees remained, the boss and the others told us there would be at least six months of overtime pay. But after the company hired its first batch of new employees, they immediately went back on their word after only two months (and deducted huge amounts under all sorts of pretexts). They even thought they had given us too much and shouldn’t have given us anything at all. They used all kinds of petty tactics to force the two employees who had been willing to stay out, including openly telling all the employees during a meeting, when only new hires were present, that one employee was leaking information to former employees (the key point being that they had no evidence)….. Employees’ base salaries were also absurdly low, and money would even be deducted from them. Many people could barely support themselves and had to take second jobs.

Finally, after all the old employees had left, the boss happened to find out that we had arranged to go out for a meal (we had made the plans long before resigning; some of us had been introduced through one another and were friends in the first place…). The boss then said directly in a meeting: “You have to choose whether to stay and continue working at the company, or leave the company and go out to eat.” As a result, I suddenly lost several colleagues…. RIP……..

There are far, far too many other things to mention. Anyone thinking of going there—please think very carefully!
