The company is very large
HR starts with a phone interview and then asks a whole bunch of questions, including the salary, job responsibilities, and reason for leaving for each of your jobs. You give one reason, and they keep following up on the topic. I wondered, this isn't an application for some high-level position—does it really need to be this thorough???
The funniest thing is that after asking about your salary history, they start trying to cut your salary, using all kinds of ways to lowball you. If you had already set the salary in the first place, why ask me about the salaries at other companies? You don't follow up properly; you just say a bunch of bullshit.....
