Pros

A five- or six-minute walk from the MRT station

Cons

The boss said, “We don’t place importance on academic performance,” while also saying, “I’ve taught thousands of students who got into the top three universities, and my child received the Mayor’s Award.” He kept contradicting himself, but just kept talking about his educational philosophy. People are only coming to interview for a job; no one wants to hear how amazingly you raised your child. With parents like that, the pressure on those around them must be intense. On one hand, he kept talking about ideas like “It’s okay if a child isn’t good at studying.” Maybe he thinks spending several million dollars on board games makes it “a more philosophy-oriented after-school tutoring center”? (One million dollars—the boss said this himself.) He sat in the office shouting at the employees outside to submit their reports. I was the interviewee and heard the whole thing—lol. The first interview lasted 40 minutes, and I spent the entire time listening to him talk about his philosophy. Then he asked me to contact them through 104 to confirm whether I would attend a second interview, which included a written test and fingerprint-pattern testing. Why couldn’t they handle everything in one go? Do they think interviewees have unlimited time to keep spending time and transportation costs coming back and forth? Instead of handling it all at once, he said, “I’m the boss. I’m the one who pays the salaries. We have our own rules.” You don’t have to pay me for interviewing you, do you? Why say it so loudly and act so arrogant? They even require candidates to come for a first and second interview, as if I only have one company to interview with. Are small and medium-sized businesses’ interviewers all incredibly arrogant these days?
