No overtime except at the factory.
If you're a blank slate who wants to come here to gain experience and learn how to be exploited, then sure. But if you're hoping to move up or pursue other career development, forget it! The departments are very good at passing the buck—A pushes it to B, and B pushes it back to A. No overtime is the only advantage. What does giving out NT$1,000 in gift vouchers for each of the three major holidays even mean? The year-end bonus is fixed at one month’s salary for Lunar New Year, unless you negotiate otherwise. There are tons of old-timers at the factory. Production control always pushes tasks onto the front-end departments. The company culture and overall atmosphere are terrible. Just look at those old-timers who claim to be busy but spend all day smoking downstairs or on the rooftop—you’ll understand. Some back-office old-timers bully newcomers by relying on their seniority: they handle things when they feel like it and refuse to handle them when they don’t like you. Everyone, be careful not to be fooled by people who are very good at putting on an act during interviews.
