The only advantage was that HR responded quickly and politely regarding the interview time.
Other than that, absolutely nothing!
Before the interview, I saw some very distinctive online reviews, and people in the industry also reminded me to be cautious. Even so, I went to the appointment formally, treating it as just an opportunity to have a chat!
The interview was scheduled for 10:00. I arrived early at 9:45, but when I got to the company building, I could not find the company’s logo or sign. I asked an elderly building administrator, whose initially warm response turned cold as he said, “Oh! An interview?” His reaction felt strange!
As soon as I entered, someone immediately asked me to come in and sign. Then a woman arrived (probably HR) and, with a smile and without being discourteous, briefly asked me a few questions. She then said that the business supervisor would be invited to speak with me next. About a minute later, the woman came back and told me that the supervisor had to attend a meeting with sales channels, so they would arrange another time with me! I found it rather amusing at the time. I left there with a smile!
When I looked at my watch, it was exactly 10:00. After being around in the working world for so long, this was the first time I had encountered a manager who cared so little about the company’s image.
When an interview is arranged, the company should demonstrate its brand standards and integrity. Every interviewee who visits could also be a customer of the brand, so never take them lightly or waste their time and money.
A very unusual experience. I hope everyone will choose carefully and not be deceived!
