開羅直效行銷贈品事業股份有限公司
Pros

1. Close to the MRT station

Cons

Company policies:

1. A small, person-dependent company (a little over 10 employees) that seriously lacks the standardized work practices and common knowledge found in ordinary companies.

2. Seriously weak understanding of professional expertise: they hire professionals but require them to follow the boss’s way of doing things, making it difficult to achieve normal results.

3. Very traditional understanding of performance. They believe that looking serious at one’s desk means one is working, while designers wearing headphones are considered inattentive. At the same time, they expect designers in different industries to deliver the same results based on the working hours of another industry.

4. The boss is also the supervisor, and seriously distrusts subordinates. They repeatedly confirm assigned tasks and, due to a lack of understanding of various professional fields, adopt a principle of distrust and replace professional methods with their own (if you object to the approach, they will make things difficult for you).

A self-assured personality: a great deal of time in the work process is spent satisfying the boss’s personal judgment, even when it conflicts with the client’s original request. Instructions from the client, sales staff, and boss come from multiple directions, causing projects to take twice the time for half the results. You are required to carry out the work according to the boss’s instructions, and even after pointing out possible problems, you still have to follow the boss’s wishes completely. When something actually goes wrong, you have to pay out of pocket to cover the losses.

5. Unwilling to train employees (even through free courses), yet expects them to contribute immediately.

6. There are surveillance cameras in the office, which are used to monitor employees and assess work performance.

7. When there are not enough employees, each person is forced to do the work of two people. You cannot refuse or express any opinions. The boss most often says, “I tell you to do something, so just do it. Don’t talk so much.”

Salary and benefits:

1. Many job titles do not match the actual job responsibilities, but the common starting salary is NT$35,000.

2. For many highly specialized positions, they offer a guaranteed annual salary, but in reality you have to work a full year before receiving the money. At the same time, they give you a workload exceeding that amount. You have to endure it until you receive the money; anyone who leaves before completing a year must pay back what they already received, and there is no year-end bonus.

3. Some positions use a bonus-based system, which is actually just a way of setting the base salary very low and using commission-based bonuses as an incentive. In practice, the vast majority of bonuses are concentrated among one or two salespeople, and most employees receive no bonuses.

4. Under a responsibility-based system with no overtime pay, you cannot miss calls after work and are required to work on holidays as well. When you ask whether you can apply for overtime pay, the boss directly refuses.

5. You will be given a hard time regardless of whether you take personal or sick leave. When taking personal leave to see a doctor, you may not want to disclose the reason for personal reasons, but you are still required to explain it; otherwise, you are treated as if you are lying. This is extremely disrespectful.

Misrepresentation during the interview:

1. During the interview, the company’s experience and vision are described as perfect, but in reality, too much of what was explained does not match the facts—it is all empty promise-making.

2. The company has an extremely high turnover rate, with many people being fired or resigning voluntarily (and the way employees are treated is like disposable chopsticks as well ==).

You could completely say that everyone was tricked into joining. The boss believes employees should not have principles and that being humiliated does not matter, as long as the company has orders.
