July 2022, interview at the Zhonghe headquarters
This was the second interview.
This time, I mainly raised the problematic issues.
Previous interview experience: https://www.qollie.com/comments/625e0f377f2450004f8f63c8
1. The warehouse is messy, there are no designated storage locations, there are many small items, and the supervisor does not know how to manage the warehouse, among other issues. All negative information is completely withheld.
Job applicants have to take the initiative to press HR for answers; only then does HR start speaking somewhat more sincerely—but only a little. If you do not bring it up, HR deliberately evades the subject.
2. The workforce is already becoming insufficient, yet the company wants to save money by using contract workers. (Opening a new warehouse) + (moving goods from the central and southern warehouses to the north) + (increased business volume later on)—it is obvious that two warehouse staff members at the new warehouse will definitely not be enough, yet the company insists on using contract workers. I only found out it was a contract position because I asked proactively. If I had not asked, I would have spent three hours interviewing for a contract job. It is clearly a large company, yet there are so many petty tactics.
3. The company is business-oriented, which I can understand, but please fix your warehouse first. If the rear is on fire and cannot support the front line, muddling through is no wonder the warehouse is such a mess.
4. Training and memorization both rely on crude, old-fashioned methods; there are no SOPs.
5. The supervisor is incompetent and is unwilling even to pretend to be busy by typing on a keyboard or clicking a mouse—in the truest sense, they do nothing.
6. In April, they said there was no overtime pay for shipping; in July, they said there was.
7. A parking space was said to be guaranteed, but it became “you might get one.”
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The supervisor is incompetent, communication is poor, people do not do their jobs, the company wants to save money, there are no basic SOPs, there are many petty tactics, HR is insincere, the atmosphere is rather lifeless, and the warehouse is so disorganized that the difficulty level is medium to high. The salary, however, is lower than elsewhere.
The previous assessment was that fresh graduates could use this as a stepping stone.
This time, the assessment is: unless you have no other choice, it is still better not to come. The reason is that there are too many complicated internal problems.
