You get to see mammals with human faces but beastly hearts, a production-control employee moonlighting in procurement, and an emperor who feeds people empty promises.
A one-man-rule company where the boss’s ideas and philosophies change constantly from week to week. There are piles of managers and piles of executive assistants, but very few section chiefs! Employee benefits keep being reduced. The new head of the Administration Department, Ms. Zhao XX, considers herself a representative of management, cutting employee benefits and taking advantage of the company’s draft position-revision plan to downgrade some employees’ job grades. Although their salaries did not change, their positions and seniority were effectively demoted. Mechanical R&D staff are basically expected to be all-purpose engineers: they must know PC, electrical controls, and FAE work. You are expected to produce customized equipment you have never made before within one month. For long-lead-time components, you have to place advance orders first; if Procurement cannot buy them, Design has to figure it out. They tell you to surrender first and have the R&D staff absorb the engineering changes themselves; if they cannot make it work, that is your problem. The more you do, the more mistakes you make; the less you do, the fewer mistakes you make. The boss favors people who do less and make fewer mistakes, while criticizing those who do more and make more mistakes as idiots. They never consider that the people who do more are the company’s main source of revenue. They take advantage of employees who seem easy to bully.
