Pros

Putting everything at the bottom would be too crowded, so some of it is placed here.

It is a standalone building in the Sanchong Industrial Park.

When writing my résumé, introducing the company’s policies, and asking about the reward-and-punishment system and performance evaluations, I was told that updates had been more frequent recently, but I did not receive a clear answer.

During the interview, they only said that everything followed the Labor Standards Act. They refused to disclose the base salary, and the compensation structure was unclear. They only told me the salary when they called to say I had been hired.

1. Clocking in and out is done through LINE.

2. Warehouse staff have one break in the morning and two in the afternoon, ten minutes each.

3. It is run like the military: there is a morning roll call to assign work, and everyone must assemble at the end of the workday. This takes 15 minutes (they make you work an extra 15 minutes every day).

4. Work starts at 9:00 a.m. The senior warehouse manager calls everyone’s name one by one. Those who have not been assigned work are given miscellaneous tasks.

5. Miscellaneous tasks include receiving goods, counting inventory, moving goods, stacking goods, and sealing boxes.

The company introduction was all handled vaguely.

Work process

Except for the first floor, which is not a warehouse, floors B2 through 4 of the company are all warehouse space, making five warehouse floors in total.

Inventory areas: B1, B2, and 4F

Picking areas in the circulation warehouse: B2, 2F, and 3F

Depending on the situation, processing a work-order picking task may require going across multiple floors.

1. Enter your personal barcode into the PDA.

2. Stamp the form with your personal identification stamp.

3. Check whether the order contains goods from different floors.

4. After collecting the items, place them in a cage cart. Someone will transport the cart to the freight elevator, and you then go to the different floors to collect the goods.

5. Finally, go to the second floor to verify the items. If one order is wrong twice, money is deducted.

None of the above was explained by the interviewer. I only found out because a friend knew warehouse employees there. The supervisor’s instructions were unclear.

Cons

1. Money is deducted for errors in picking or packing goods (in violation of the Labor Standards Act).

2. Overtime is mandatory (on days 1 and 5, overtime until 10:00 p.m. is compulsory); on days 2, 3, and 4, you may choose one day not to work overtime.

3. Overtime pay is counted only after completing a full hour.

4. The reward-and-punishment system and performance evaluations are changed too quickly.

5. The layout and workflow are extremely poor, yet speed and accuracy are still demanded.

6. Employees are not respected. The way the supervisor speaks to employees is worse than the way one would speak to a dog.

7. Every Saturday, employees have to help unload containers. Unloading containers is done entirely by hand.

8. The dates for annual leave and compensatory leave cannot be designated (in violation of the Labor Standards Act).

8. Excessive overtime (in violation of the Labor Standards Act).

9. The dates for annual leave cannot be designated (in violation of the Labor Standards Act).

You have better choices in life than letting people mistreat you.
