You proactively contacted me through 104 for an interview. If my experience didn’t meet your requirements, you wouldn’t have asked me to come in, would you? On the day of the interview, you also said that there was nothing wrong with my experience and that the only difference was that I was switching industries, so I would need to learn the industry’s cost accounting. I said I understood. The compensation listed on 104 was 3K–5K, but you said that because the industry was different and I would need to learn, the starting salary would be 2.8K. You specifically sought me out for an interview because of my more than ten years of accounting experience, yet you offered this starting salary. Since I would have to learn everything anyway, why not simply hire a recent graduate? If you are going to hire someone with experience, offering such a low salary makes me unable to feel the company’s sincerity in recruiting. You then added that the salary for the accounting position would be adjusted quickly. If you were sincere, you should have said how much it would be adjusted after three months, once I had learned the job, and made a direct commitment instead of painting an unrealistic picture.
