Job duties:

The duties themselves are not difficult, but they are extremely miscellaneous.

Support required for: preparing purchase orders, serving lunchboxes to all factory employees, distributing benefits, year-end party events, receiving VIP guests, and setting up the video conferencing system.

Basically, there are fixed clerical and miscellaneous tasks every day. The internal administrative assistant in the department also generally provides support as a purchasing assistant.

Aside from the purchase-order work, most of the time is basically spent being bored, staring blankly, looking at stocks, and browsing on the phone. Occasionally, I go to the pantry to chat and eat some healthy food.

The rest of the time feels very aimless and boring. About once a month, there may be an opportunity to lead a tour. Otherwise, the job makes people feel that they are wasting their lives at work. The pay is low, and there are not many opportunities for personal growth. It feels like everyone sees the job as merely serving as a decorative figure.

The general affairs department here is quite strange.

Required staffing for the unit: (nine employees)

One section manager, one team leader, two tax affairs staff members, two tour guides, one purchasing staff member, one plant operations staff member, and one receptionist.

Current staffing for the unit: (six employees)

One team leader, two tax affairs staff members, one tour guide, one purchasing staff member, and one receptionist.

One plant operations staff member left at the beginning of February, and one purchasing staff member left in March.

In short, the turnover throughout the department is very high. According to what senior colleagues said, over the past three years, in addition to the purchasing and plant operations staff members mentioned above, the following people left one after another:

Tax Affairs No. 1, Plant Operations No. 1, Tax Affairs No. 2, the former General Affairs Section Manager, Plant Operations No. 2, and Purchasing No. 1 (six people in total).
