Pros

Think carefully—there really aren't any.

Cons

A family-owned business, with the Huang family permeating every department.

During the interview, applicants are asked to provide various information. For a company like this, writing all that is simply superfluous; no matter how well you write it, no one genuinely wants to understand the employees’ thoughts.

Although they explicitly said during the interview that business trips would not be required, not only do we have to travel for work, but we also have to stay overnight. To save money, the company even compresses our schedules and only provides accommodation when absolutely necessary. More than once, after completing an inventory count and returning to Taipei, it was already midnight, yet they would not reimburse the taxi fare. Was I supposed to walk home?

Even when overtime is genuinely necessary, there is no compensation of any kind. We are required to work overtime or travel on holidays; if you are lucky, you only get compensatory leave, and if you are unlucky, you get nothing at all.

Holiday overtime can only be compensated with weekdays off, and compensatory leave has an expiration date.

The workload is heavy, yet the leave policies are full of restrictions. Sometimes compensatory leave cannot be used up before it is automatically forfeited.

Taking annual leave essentially costs a full day; being half an hour late automatically results in being required to take one hour of personal leave.

Where is the justification?

Where is the justice?

There is no year-end banquet, no spring banquet, no prize drawing, and no rewards.

Even the once-a-year company dinner consists of takeout. There is only that one meal a year, and the food is terrible. Red-envelope bonuses for the three major holidays are at most 500, and sometimes only 200 or nothing at all.

Every elder in the family is the same: things they have said can be treated as if they were never said, while things they never said are presented as though they really did say them and you simply were not listening.

None of the rules have any consistent standards; the only standard is whatever the boss or supervisor says.

In short, the rule for surviving here

is simply: don’t bring your brain to work.

The information on the job websites is a complete scam.

What the supervisor says during the interview is simply a lie.
