Pros

Dragon Boat Festival: 1–2 months’ salary

Mid-Autumn Festival: 1–2 months’ salary

Year-end: 2–4 months’ salary

Department store staff and office personnel receive the same bonuses. However, the calculation is not based on your full salary; it should be calculated based on your insured salary.

New shoe styles can be purchased at 80% of the original price; old styles are 40% off.

Cons

For everyone’s reference, here is an overview of the company’s turnover rate by department:

1. Marketing Department

2. Sales Department

3. Product Department and Administration Department

4. Direct Operations Department

The company operates under a high-pressure management style, so think carefully before applying. You will understand once you join.

The company operates under a responsibility-based system. It is recommended that people without friends, family, or a girlfriend apply for jobs here.

Everyone in the company has a heavy workload and handles multiple roles. If you have submitted an application, the reviewers may also be too busy to look at your résumé, so don’t be discouraged. If you still want to apply after reading this, it is a matter of one party being willing to fight and the other being willing to take it. The company’s turnover rate is already quite high. If you want your résumé to look good in the future, go ahead and apply.

The company likes hiring women: 80% women and 20% men. If a task is difficult and unrewarding, men are more likely to be called upon to handle moving goods.

P.S. “168” below refers to the general manager. If you actually get hired, you’ll understand once you join, haha.

1. Interview process

For department store positions, there is only one interview, conducted by the supervisor responsible for that area.

Office positions require two interviews. In the first, if the department manager thinks you are suitable, they will submit your application to 168 for a second interview. The key is the second interview, where your hiring depends on 168’s mood that day. If she finds any reason to consider you unsuitable, you will not be hired. If 168 thinks you are suitable and decides to hire you, she will discuss the salary with you. She will say that the company’s three seasonal bonuses are very high, then cut your salary, so the salary will be lower than elsewhere. The decision is up to you.

The Labor Standards Act does not require these three seasonal bonuses to be paid. Think carefully. They are generally paid, although payment is sometimes delayed. Also, as a reminder, the calculation is not based on your full salary; it should be based on your insured salary.

P.S. Don’t worry about the basic interview test—it is a routine test. If you apply for a position requiring English, they will review your English test. If you feel hot during the interview, it is because company policy says the air conditioning is only turned on when the indoor temperature reaches 28°C; otherwise, only the fan is used. Please try to remain cheerful during the interview =.=.

One more thing: if they give you a cup during the interview, avoid drinking from it if possible. Some people in each department have poor habits: after using a cup, they merely rinse it in the pantry and put it back without washing it.......

Store staff are paid through a combination of base salary and commission. Taking leave on major holidays is prohibited. You must follow the supervisor’s schedule or provide staffing support elsewhere. If the supervisor does not like you, you may be assigned to a store with poor business, reducing your commission income.

2. Company culture

If you are selected and decide to join the company, on your first day...... they will show you what they want you to see. However,

the company has no regulations. It only shows you previous announcements. If something is repeated or the rules have changed, you have to verify for yourself which announcement is currently correct...... from the 90s of the ROC calendar to the present.......

Many things are kept secret. Those who obediently follow instructions and simply complete their own duties will receive bonuses in their accounts when the time comes. The company will not tell you how much is being paid; you have to calculate it yourself.

3. Work culture

Whenever 168 thinks of something, she immediately sends LINE messages—on holidays, while abroad, or even in the middle of the night—to the relevant department group. If no one replies, the department manager will call the person concerned and demand a response.

Documents submitted to 168 for approval depend on her mood that day. If she is in a bad mood, almost anything submitted will be nitpicked or criticized..... You have to anticipate every question 168 might ask and prepare answers to handle and defuse them....

There are no formal rules for official documents; everything depends on what 168 says. Something she said a week earlier, or a document or budget she approved, can be rejected immediately this week, meaning all the work done that week has to be redone from scratch.

When the budget is limited and something needs to be purchased, the company may ask whether any colleague knows someone willing to lend it to the company. The company does not want to spend money and only wants to use the item for a particular event, press conference, sale, and so on. Otherwise, it may ask whether anyone knows a vendor willing to take on the job at a low cost. My advice is not to ruin your own reputation by using your personal connections. Stay at this company long enough and you will understand.

If you make a mistake and hear 168 say that you should discipline yourself, submit a disciplinary action against yourself. At this company, all I have seen are disciplinary actions; I have never seen anyone receive positive recognition. There are no formal rules for the reasons—everything depends on what 168 says.

Many things at the company are kept secret and are only announced at the last minute. Relevant personnel then have to put aside their regular daily work to complete the assignment, such as a sale, road-running event, trade show at the World Trade Center, and so on. Every department must immediately complete these temporary assignments. The company likes to assign tasks with just enough time to avoid mistakes. If there is a problem, you have to find a way to solve it. If money is involved, it becomes very difficult to handle. For these events, every department must also send staff in shifts to provide support on both weekdays and weekends.

Many pieces of equipment are more than 10 years old, but the company is reluctant to dispose of them. Some employees who cannot tolerate this end up buying their own monitors, chairs, mice, and keyboards.

168 says that, as a sports brand, the company should promote sports and road running. Once you join, you will see that it is effectively compulsory: people are called out in the group. Even employees with families or heavy workloads are expected to participate in road races. The rules keep changing. If you receive a watch as a reward and do not run next time, you may be accused of tricking the company into giving you the watch. Think carefully—once you run one time, it will never end.

Company policy says the air conditioning can only be turned on when the indoor temperature reaches 28°C. Normally, only the fan is used, so you will see everyone bringing a small electric fan to place under their feet and blow air at themselves..... Is this really saving electricity?

During the anniversary sale, staff must provide support north of Zhongli according to a shift schedule.

Be sure to double-check your work repeatedly. The company will not pay out of its own pocket; employees pay instead. If you make a mistake, you have to compensate the company—for example, errors in commissioned work, or additional event expenses incurred without 168’s approval, which you must absorb yourself. If shoes go missing during a sale event, the department in charge has to pay for them.

Once you join, you will see many strange incidents. My advice, based on everything above: if you want a better-looking résumé and a little more money, go ahead. Just remember that you may be mistreated and sometimes verbally bullied, and may be called a “salary thief,” among other things.
