After the second generation took over, it became a family business. The personnel system lacks fairness and justice. Changes to attendance clocking and the commission-based salary system for frontline counter staff are made without going through labor-management meetings. When disputes arise, there is no channel for addressing them or appealing to management, and nothing is done to improve the situation. Counter staff also have no career advancement opportunities. I have never seen a company that devalues its sales staff—who help the company make money—to such an extreme.
