They directly said that the reason the salary was higher was because it was treated as overtime pay, implying that overtime could not be reported. Also, it is a family-owned business. When I asked about the turnover rate, HR said that if they felt someone was unsuitable, they would ask that person to leave, so I guess the previous employee was asked to leave too :)
