Whenever Fang Yiji entered the shop, everyone would look at him and laugh.
Some would call out, “Fang Yiji, are you getting ready to change companies again!”
She would not answer, but would say to the boss, “I’ll be the general manager of the new business unit.” Then she would start making up grandiose stories.
They would deliberately shout loudly again, “You must have been laid off again!”
Fang Yiji would open her eyes wide and say, “How can you falsely accuse me of wrongdoing out of thin air…”
“What integrity? I saw you with my own eyes the day before yesterday, protesting against your employees and humiliating people.”
Fang Yiji’s face would flush, the veins on her forehead bulging one after another, as she argued, “I used to work for a foreign company… damn it!… Does messaging employees on LINE after work count as overtime?”
What followed was a string of incomprehensible words, things like “young masters and young ladies” and “get lost,” which made everyone burst out laughing. The shop, inside and out, was filled with a lively atmosphere.
