Paychecks are issued on time. Most colleagues are very professional.
The General Manager of the Asia Digital Division has serious emotional issues, disrespects professional expertise, and uses her authority to bully employees. She repeatedly sends work plans back to make things difficult for employees and does not pay the bonuses promised during interviews. She maliciously extends probationary periods (a senior executive who does not understand the Labor Standards Act yet has an unjustifiably high opinion of herself). The headquarters' management department knows about this but does nothing. They do not care about the large number of employees leaving. (Since she took office, more than 15 employees have left in just over half a year. If you also want to be one of them, go ahead and join!)
Starting from the interview, applicants are required to submit assignments. From receiving the offer to starting work—over the course of one month—the company repeatedly demands that applicants begin working. Although I refused on the grounds that this was illegal, they still sent emails all day long. They send work or schedule meetings for discussion on holidays. They even implied that I could work for her on holidays (after the matter was reported to the company, no wages were paid). After joining, I worked more than 16 hours every day and still had to receive LINE messages and work assignments on holidays. Female colleagues who worked past 10 p.m. received no compensation, violating the Labor Standards Act, and the HR department did not care.
The company's goals are unclear, and it does not make annual plans. It even gives you plans from previous companies for reference (this was the first time I had seen a general manager leak work plans from a former company). Managers and colleagues are asked to target coworkers they dislike; if you speak with a bullied colleague, it is noted down. It is truly unbelievable.
In all my years working for foreign companies, this is the first time I have encountered management like this. They took the contents of your references' emails and sent them to the person concerned to criticize their work performance. Someone who does not know how to protect personal data and leaks company secrets uses her authority to threaten employees and repeatedly forces different employees out by claiming they are incompetent. (There must be something wrong with this company's interviews—if someone is incompetent, why issue them an offer?) The management executive said that Johnson Health Tech is not a company that hires employees only to make them resign. Yet when handling labor issues, they use exactly this approach to force employees out. They maliciously demote professional managers (one such manager had been praised by clients). When they encounter an employee they dislike, they schedule one-on-one interviews every day. (This is the general manager I have seen with the most time to chat with employees every day.) So much time is spent preparing for each day's conversations that projects cannot proceed.
Most people cannot withstand the emotional pressure every day and choose to leave. A company that disregards employee development and downplays unlawful workplace violations truly has no right to receive an honor such as a happy workplace certification. (I question the certification company's evaluation criteria.)
