Chung Hwa Cable’s service counters are not purely service-oriented; they also involve meeting sales targets.
Because Chung Hwa Cable has a close relationship with Taiwan Star, staff are required to sell Taiwan Star mobile plans as well.
The performance bonuses are fairly reasonable, but there is also an equivalent penalty system.
There are surveillance cameras in front of, behind, and beside the counter to protect counter staff from customers who lose control and make a huge scene.
The cameras also serve another purpose: under the TQM system, they are used to check whether staff follow company procedures and truthfully promote campaign packages to customers.
You will inevitably also encounter service cancellations and equipment returns. There is a set quota every month, and exceeding it will result in penalties.
Basically, it is like being an indoor sales representative. If you view yourself as a counter service employee, it may be more psychologically balanced to accept receiving only the base salary, so you will not be overly concerned about the monthly rewards and penalties.
You really need to have strong stress tolerance. After all, many consumers in Taiwan today have been spoiled and are even more unreasonable than stereotypical difficult customers.
So when dealing with angry customers shouting at you, you still have to put on a fake smile like you have had 200 Botox injections.
It is a basic customer-service industry skill XD
To emphasize again: if you really want to apply, you must first prepare yourself mentally to accept being
[a counter service employee who is okay with receiving only the base salary]
Otherwise, you may lose yourself by caring too much about performance targets and penalties.
