Pros

I really can’t think of any.

Cons

1. Dismissed an employee who had worked there for ten years without providing a “certificate of involuntary termination,” offering only three months’ salary instead of following the Labor Standards Act procedures (the severance pay calculated under the Labor Standards Act would have been approximately NT$252,000). The employee not only failed to receive severance pay but was also unable to claim nine months of unemployment benefits.

2. During the Level 3 epidemic alert from 2020 to 2021, an employee needed to care for young children and applied for epidemic-prevention caregiving leave. The company initially refused to approve the leave, then said the employee could only work remotely from home without pay. Absolutely reprehensible.

Because a household member’s rapid-test result had not yet been issued, the employee, acting out of goodwill, informed the company that they would not enter the office that day and would return to work normally once the family member was confirmed negative. Although the rapid-test result was negative, the company still would not allow the employee to return to work, and then maliciously dismissed the employee that afternoon.

3. The company’s work environment is genuinely poor. It is an old townhouse, not a proper office, and its fire-safety equipment is incomplete, showing disregard for employees’ lives.

4. The boss keeps replacing one car with another, and the boss’s wife even has money for laser eye surgery, yet they said the company had no money to pay year-end bonuses. They even had the nerve to tell everyone that they could make money at the company and that the company would not be stingy!

They gave out one red envelope for Lunar New Year (less than half a month’s salary). An employee who had worked there for five years even received NT$4,000 less in 2021 than in 2020. Does it decrease year after year? How can anyone build a long-term career there?

5. Last year, in 2021, the company experienced a cash-flow shortage and delayed salary payments because it did not have enough money.

6. The turnover rate is far too high. Six people can leave within half a year, making it impossible to hand over work properly. Everyone keeps making mistakes and shifting the blame.

None of the above is a conspiracy. No one would spend time meaninglessly saying these things.

These are all things that really happened!!

If the company had followed the Labor Standards Act, who would lie and say they did not receive a certificate of involuntary termination? The Labor Bureau could find out with one investigation.

If the company offered good pay, who would resign from a well-paid environment? It is simply because the company did not pay reasonable wages!

If the company had a future, who would leave after working there and waste their time? It is because you do not pay year-end bonuses and even dismiss employees who helped build the company over ten years. If people who have worked there for ten years can still be dismissed, who would dare stay? Where is the security?

Honestly, the boss only wants employees who flatter them and spend all day doing nothing.

The kind who curry favor and say nice things—their ability is not the important thing.

As long as you are good at flattering the boss and good at pretending to be obedient and compliant, working here is OK.

All you need is for upper management to like you; ability is unnecessary.
