Pros

The interview was not very difficult. The manager called the supervisor at my previous company to ask about my work performance and attitude. HR explained the job fairly clearly, but the department manager tended to gloss over the less favorable points. The company has a gym, but there is not much to do there; people usually play table tennis. On my first day, the company provided a Chishang boxed lunch for free; afterward, lunches could be ordered at a discount. The company also paid for the health examination required upon joining. Motorcycle parking is available, and car parking is free. The year-end bonus is about one month’s salary. After lunch break, employees have to do five minutes of exercises. The company provides free coffee and tea bags. There is also a Buddhist shrine, whose principal deity is Confucius, the First Teacher of All Ages.

Cons

The departments do not have very strong cohesion. The Marketing Department tends to shift responsibility back to others. In the company, senior employees often pass tasks down to junior employees—for example, the HR Department assigns some tasks to less experienced staff. The R&D Department members mostly do their own work, but one or two particularly helpful, more senior employees will lend a hand, which is worth encouraging. The receptionist seems very nice, but only does her own work and leaves immediately when her shift ends. One person in General Affairs is very good at pushing tasks onto others and often likes to impose rules based on his or her own opinions. The Labor Safety Department has only one person, so that person has to handle everything alone when problems arise. There is one very nice person in IT, while another tends to pass tasks on. The people in Purchasing are nice, especially the manager, who is fair in rewarding and disciplining employees. The Finance Department is very quiet. The manager is strict, but there are no problems as long as you do what he expects. Overall, because there are many senior employees in the company, everyone is only willing to take responsibility for their own work. A small number of people are unwilling to take on new tasks and pass work to others. However, the assistant on the third floor is very nice, while the assistant on the second floor can sometimes be rather particular. Also, one of the cleaning ladies is very fond of nagging and is quite annoying.
