Free lunch
1. The company does not provide laptops, and this was not disclosed during the interview. Employees have to purchase one themselves, with the company paying in installments over three years. Are they so afraid of employees resigning that they have to bind them this way? If you do not buy a laptop, they will provide an extremely old desktop computer. It is humiliating—clearly intended to make employees unable to stand it and buy their own computer.
2. The company violates the Labor Standards Act. Unused annual leave cannot be exchanged for money, and unused leave cannot be carried over to the following year, causing many employees to take a large amount of leave during the last one or two months of the year. The boss does not interfere with employees taking leave, but projects still have to be completed on schedule, so many people effectively work from home or simply do not take leave. In any case, the person who suffers the loss is not the boss.
3. The office is old and has cockroaches and rats. The bathroom lighting is dim. How poor do they have to be to let things get this bad?
4. Meetings covering the same content are spread across several days each month, running from morning until night. Lunch breaks are delayed, and meetings also extend past the end of the workday to 7–8 p.m. It is extremely old-fashioned.
5. The colleagues are very old, work slowly, and are rigid, with little interaction.
6. If you are particularly willing to be exploited, this place may be for you. That is what suits a family business!
