I've been here for several dozen months. Although that may not be a long time, I think I have enough experience to say a few things.
Many people assume that industrial computers are a place where you can coast until retirement, but honestly, this company needs people with ideas who are good at adapting and solving problems. Some reviews have mentioned that this company operates under a professional management system, which is genuinely quite rare. DFI used to be very closed off, but after being acquired by Qisda BenQ, aside from having a wealthier parent company, it has also become more secure at every level, with a more open and flexible way of doing things.
In one sentence: “The company really respects people.” I believe few Taiwanese companies can achieve this. If you stay here with self-discipline, accountability, and mutual respect, things will go more smoothly. You can see this in the managers of every department. “Innocence” is the quality radiated by these first-level managers. They work alongside you, guide you, and do things together with you, and the systems are also highly transparent.
The company is located in Xizhi, which, honestly, is not an easy place to recruit people. So the company really values those who are willing to stay, and promotions are frequently announced. No one here will pressure you to work overtime. Just respect the company’s attendance policy. This is an office, not a factory, so as long as you manage your own working time properly, that’s fine. No one will pat you on the head for working overtime, and no one will stop you from taking leave.
The Qisda BenQ Group has abundant resources. If you know how to make use of them, this can be an excellent stage.
There are always two sides to everything. If you simply wait for someone else to tell you how to do things, working here will be painful.
Industrial computers, to be frank, used to be easy money. Simply put, you didn’t need to try too hard or worry about too much, and orders would keep coming in. Everyone could get a very satisfying share.
But the market has changed in recent years. Things that used to be secondary now have a magnified impact. In the past, making money was the most important thing. Putting time into making even more money offered a better return than establishing some solid foundational systems.
Here’s an example. If you put all the money you earn into the same bag and one day discover that it has a hole in it, but the loss that could be prevented by spending time repairing the bag is far smaller than the revenue that could be generated by spending the same amount of time driving performance, you would definitely choose the latter. Then one day, when you discover that the hole in the bag is seriously affecting revenue, you will have to deal with both sides at once, and it will be exhausting.
In short, industrial computers are still profitable. Given the market conditions over the past two years, being able to receive bonuses like these is already something to be very grateful for! If you are willing to solve problems in exchange for money, this is a very suitable place for you.
