1. To put it nicely, there are meals provided, but in reality, it’s because there aren’t many places to eat out in the Wugu Industrial Park;
2. Everyone almost always leaves work on time at 6:30, or is “forced to leave work”
There is honestly far too much to write down, which makes it completely understandable why this brand will never become an international luxury brand.
(Only the design director and general manager themselves think they are on par with CHANEL and Hermès?)
1. The design director, Mrs. Wang, constantly says that people are inexperienced and don’t understand the situation, but she thinks it’s perfectly fine when her favored employees do stupid things, bully newcomers, and deceive their superiors;
2. Design Director Mrs. Wang has absolutely no respect for employees. She yells and curses at them, and her standards are different every time. She tells people to come up with innovative ideas, but all proposals ultimately have to follow the methods she has used for over 20 years;
3. The plans are changed over and over all day long, and she never gives a definitive answer until the very last second. Processes that have already been revised hundreds of times can be completely overturned at the last moment;
4. There is serious infighting among the younger employees. Colleagues they dislike are ostracized and excluded from cliques, and senior employees seriously bully newcomers. Even the director joins in bullying new employees. HR and the general manager do not want to deal with the infighting either, so people who are not mentally strong enough to endure it will be advised to resign;
5. Mrs. Wang is basically someone who will fly into a rage at any time and for any reason whenever she is unhappy. There is no way to prevent it or appease her, because she simply wants to be unhappy;
6. The company has a young secretary to Mrs. Wang and Mr. Wang who often treats minor matters as important orders. If there is something she dislikes, she will say, “Mrs. Wang said it’s not allowed.” If no one stops her, she will use all sorts of petty tactics to make your work difficult;
In short, there are troubles both inside and out.
There are many incidents of internal conflict and ostracism among colleagues, while the boss is volatile and throws tantrums recklessly. The retail staff may look glamorous, but in reality they are also exploited by their superiors.
As for external matters, there is even less to say: the customers of Shiatzy Chen and Tsai Tsai Tea are mostly older people.
During a meeting, the general manager once humiliated an internal employee by saying that no matter how much they saved throughout their life, they would never buy Shiatzy Chen as everyday clothing, considering it a luxury brand that only wealthy people could afford. (But honestly, even young people who could save up don’t want to buy this brand, do they?)
Both the interview and the period after joining the company were nightmares. Young people who care about their expertise, ideals, and ambitions should absolutely not try it lightly—it will make them question themselves after being worn down by all these struggles.
