There are still some humane people.
Some time ago, a new manager joined a department.
Their attitude toward people with lower job grades was worse than anything I had ever seen.
The way they bowed, scraped, and smiled obsequiously at people of the same or higher job grades was also disgustingly unprecedented.
Although I have no business dealings with them, just listening from the side was infuriating.
Recently, I heard them berating an assistant because there were errors in the numbers on a spreadsheet. I also heard them say that there was a problem with the display and tell the assistant to figure it out. They even told the assistant to figure out accounting matters. Do you want the assistant to figure out how to spend your salary too?
Their reports at the managers’ weekly meeting are disorganized and incomplete, and their ability is unbelievably poor. Yet they can still carry themselves with such an inflated attitude. It is truly admirable.
