My department can leave work on time, the atmosphere is also good, and the workload is moderate. In fact, it’s suitable for coasting until retirement.
They cut various benefits on the pretext of the pandemic or business performance. Has Uni-President ever lost money? The salary is low, and the snack box disappeared. Benefits have never been included in our pay; they are always Uni-President Group gift vouchers, 7-ELEVEN merchandise cards, and iCash stored value, all going into its own group companies—a fine example of a self-contained cycle! The gifts for the three major festivals are all from Uni-President subsidiaries (usually Starbucks), but this year’s Mid-Autumn Festival gift also disappeared. They even had the nerve to write on 104 that there were gifts for the three major festivals (I just checked and it has been changed to “holiday gifts”; they don’t dare write “three major festivals”). We understand that birthday parties, group meals, Christmas dinners, year-end parties, and travel subsidies were canceled because of the pandemic, but couldn’t that budget have been converted into other benefits? It disappeared completely as well. By the way, the iCash stored value for the second half of the year was cut by several thousand according to the same ratio. As a newcomer, I had more than NT$3,000 cut—who knows how things are for the veteran employees?
