The English proficiency requirement in the job posting only said “basic understanding,” but the second manager conducted the entire interview in English (at 26K, they have the nerve to require English proficiency). They also looked extremely sour and treated the interviewee with contempt. The interview lasted a full two hours, and the probationary period was as long as six months. They emphasized that the probationary period is paid on a daily-wage basis, calculated one day at a time—meaning that if they tell you to leave, they will not pay severance. The office atmosphere was also very cold. Taiwanese on the outside, but Japanese at heart.
