The English requirement in the job posting only said “basic understanding,” but the second manager conducted the entire interview in English (at 26K, they still have the nerve to demand English proficiency). They also had a very unpleasant expression and looked down on the interviewee. The interview lasted a full two hours, and the probationary period lasted as long as six months. They emphasized that the probationary period was paid on a daily-wage basis, calculated one day at a time—meaning they could tell you to leave without paying severance. The office atmosphere was also very cold. Taiwanese on the outside, foreign at the core.
