瑞傳科技股份有限公司
Pros

Lunch and dinner are included.

However, the taste of the daily boxed meals, daily set meals, and so on is really ordinary. If you want to eat better, you have to pay out of pocket, because

瑞傳 only subsidizes $70 per meal.

They are willing to train newcomers.

14 months guaranteed.

Cons

A lot.

For example, the monthly salary they mention is divided into base salary + position allowance. For bachelor's degree holders, the base salary is as low as that offered to bubble-tea shop workers elsewhere; for master's degree holders, the base salary is also not high. The monthly salary is mainly made up by the position allowance.

Regardless of their prior experience, new hires have to write a daily reflection, explanations of three technical terms each day, and daily progress reports for non-project work. It feels like an elementary school communication notebook. You cannot write random things or too little, because management will review it.

There were many sexual-harassment rumors at the company in its earlier years. Please see the other reviews on Jobment.

There are not that many senior engineers in the company. Five years of experience is genuinely considered senior there. There are also many older employees, some of whom are there to coast toward retirement. Most people there are either still quite inexperienced or older workers.

There is no overtime pay.

Some people really do leave at 6 p.m. on time, while others often stay late and work until 11 p.m. or midnight. Management knows about it but has not taken any action. Those who leave on time do not get raises, while those who often work overtime do get raises—but there is no overtime pay.

No other benefits.

Also, they seem to really like hiring people without relevant work experience, then offering them the salary of a new bachelor's or master's graduate? I have a friend with a master's degree in computer science from National Taiwan University of Science and Technology who was recruited by 瑞傳 for an EC firmware engineer interview, and they offered him a “master's new-hire salary,” ignoring his 5–10 years of work experience.

They will ask newcomers to do work outside their job responsibilities, then say it is very simple. The senior employees and supervisors themselves do not do it, and eventually that newcomer resigned.

The company actually has no new-hire training system. Newcomers have to seek out former employees' experience to learn things; they simply send you the presentation or Word file left by the previous person for reference.

The general manager and the company have been taken over by ASUS.

瑞傳’s annual salary is generally only about 14–15 months’ worth.

As for performance bonuses, you can receive one only if you handle very urgent projects. In my team, for example, only the manager could receive a performance bonus.

As for profit sharing, the maximum is only one month’s salary.

After working at 瑞傳, I will not want to stay in the industrial-computer industry again. The pay is ridiculously low.

My friend graduated from university, passed the civil service examination, and entered the public-sector system with an annual salary starting at NT$650,000. A master's graduate at 瑞傳 earns about NT$600,000–650,000 annually.

Also, one team in the software department will be completely wiped out next month; everyone has already jumped ship.
