The company’s system is that there is no system. Everything is decided by the boss or certain department managers who have been there for a long time. Matters that have already been announced are later forgotten by the people at the top, who then devise new procedures all over again. The boss believes that as long as employees clock in for work, they should do anything for him. After joining, employees are often required to handle matters unrelated to their own positions, such as work for other departments, work for the boss’s other companies, and even private errands for the boss, the boss’s wife, or the boss’s relatives. Male employees are expected to serve as unpaid delivery workers, movers, plumbers and electricians, repair internet connections and various electrical appliances, and buy betel nuts and coffee. Female employees are expected to handle all kinds of miscellaneous internal administrative errands.
