Meals are provided, but they are served buffet-style. I’ve seen people refill the soup with the ladle touching their own bowls directly, and there were no partitions—just a token cross-shaped marking on the round tables. During the pandemic, it was really unacceptable!

Interview: You are taken to a room without air conditioning and asked to write a bunch of boring questions. It was unbearably hot, and there was no water. The chairman conducted the interview personally. While looking at my résumé, he even criticized my previous job for having no prospects, saying things like the hotel industry would be the mainstream in the future. I was applying for an accounting position, but they said I should start in the restaurant or housekeeping department… I later turned them down, and only then did they transfer me to the reservations department.

Actual work experience: There was no comprehensive new-employee training—only a few SOPs that senior colleagues had worked out themselves, stapled together and handed to me to read (one of the senior colleagues said they had organized them). They didn’t even teach me the complete process for handling a reservation; they just put me on the phones. I couldn’t believe that such a large company would simply throw a new employee with no professional training and zero background in the hotel industry in front of guests. It was absurd. Then there was a colleague nicknamed “Xiao 1” as a homophone who would undermine your confidence. Sometimes when I asked her questions, she wouldn’t respond. I wasn’t sure whether she hadn’t heard me or was pretending not to. I ended up embarrassing myself in front of guests, so I had to keep putting calls on hold, asking her for an answer, returning to the call, putting it on hold again, and then responding to the guest… After I hung up, she leisurely said, “Try harder; you’re still very inexperienced 🙂” It was really ridiculous.

All in all, I don’t recommend this place. I feel like several days of my life were wasted.
