Development engineer, N+1.x performance rating. An English interview is required, but in Taiwan, Chinese is still used primarily. There is an annual travel subsidy, a health checkup every two years (the basic kind), and 15 days of leave to start. Overtime is compensated with time off only. Later, I learned through a friend of a friend that core ticket trading is handled by the mainland China team, while Taiwan only handles service integration. It is often unstable, and any problems have to be handled on call at any time. The manager only pushes things onto others and does not resolve the root problems. We also have to help the mainland China team with testing and monitoring, which is quite arduous. Developers also have to double as project managers. I feel the salary is probably not commensurate with the responsibilities (if the role is not purely development).
I did not join, so I have no comment.
