1. The first interview was an online video interview with HR, and the conversation was quite pleasant. The notifications from the job bank were also very prompt and clear.
2. At the on-site second interview, the people I encountered who were not interviewers were all nice. They were very friendly when assisting you.
1. You don’t have to rewrite your résumé; the interviewer had already photocopied it for the interview. You also don’t have to wait long. However, there were other interviewees in the interview area, and everything could be heard clearly, so there was no privacy.
2. The first interviewer in the second interview was somewhat speechless-inducing. The interview questions were unclear and unprofessional, and the interviewer was also very disrespectful of privacy. They asked whether I sold things at auction and wanted to see the listing copy. I said I only sold my own secondhand items and that this was somewhat private (meaning, what kind of copy would there even be!?), but they still insisted on seeing the listing—and took my entire phone to look at it.
3. During the pandemic, the interview arrangements mentioned masks and temperature checks. The first interview was also conducted by video, but this interviewer asked me to take off my mask so they could see my light makeup! I said it wasn’t very convenient given the pandemic, and they said, “That’s okay, just don’t open your mouth.” At the time, I really thought this interviewer was very foolish. If I had been infected because of this, I would still have been furious when I got home! Besides, I had only put on light makeup for an interview, so I didn’t understand what they wanted to see. I remembered that, in a previous interview, a male manager had also asked me at the end to take off my mask so he could take a look. I was truly speechless and rolled my eyes.
4. The second interviewer in the second interview seemed to be a team leader, but was also very young. Overall, the interview content was more normal, but they liked repeatedly asking very vague questions: What are your expectations of yourself? What is your vision for yourself? What are your current goals? What is the most impressive thing you have bought online? …
The rest of the process was more or less as others online have described. They would say that because you had no experience at all, the position would be hourly, and that you would need to intern for half a day without pay. The notification I received also did not use the job title from the original interview. I felt that the interview content was more normal because the interviewer thought my résumé was okay. While waiting, I heard another person’s interview. They asked the usual invasive questions about privacy—marriage, boyfriend, husband, and children—told the person to come up with some copy on the spot, and asked, “So you want to keep being an online-shopping assistant?” It felt somewhat sarcastic. Hearing it, I also felt that things did not look promising. Would I also be subjected to such a speechless interview when it was my turn?
5. Overall, the interview content was similar to reviews from several years ago online. I found it unprofessional, and the interviewers seemed habitually disrespectful of privacy. Several times during the process, I sighed and rolled my eyes internally. I feel that if I actually spent time interning or went to work at the company, it probably would not be very professional (just my personal impression).
