However, I didn’t stay long, so I don’t know whether there was any dark side. The following is my experience. When I first joined, I was only told that there would be an elimination round, an exam on the third and seventh days, and that I would sign a seven-day fixed-term contract. By my fourth day, I had already passed the tests conducted by the third supervisor and the seventh boss, and it had also been confirmed that I could stay. On my ninth day, I had a scheduled day off. During my leave, I asked about signing an indefinite-term contract. The next afternoon, on my tenth day, I was told to sign a resignation form. They said, “We feel that you’re still not suitable for our company.” I asked why, and she said, “There’s nothing wrong with living close to home and wanting to go home to rest at noon. We’re just worried that it might influence others to want to do the same in the future. Also, you look at your phone at work.” I replied that all of these things could be discussed: I could stay at the company instead of going home, and I had been using my phone because I had not yet received a laptop. I was recording and taking notes of our review conversations because she had asked me to do so. It was all a misunderstanding.

The response I received was: “Mm-hmm, it’s okay.” I turned to leave, and the boss happened to pass by and ask his daughter what was wrong.

It’s simply a family business: 90% of the business department managers are the owner’s children. I happened to encounter a female manager with very little sales experience and zero leadership experience or ability—and she was also a daddy’s girl.
