第一化粧品廠股份有限公司
Pros

Employees get a 30% discount, but honestly, the skincare products are pretty mediocre in terms of effectiveness.

Cons

E-commerce is basically telephone customer service, but during the interview they gloss over this part and mainly talk to you about copywriting, management, marketing, business development, and promotions. Once you join, however, the main job is telephone customer service. As for the other duties, it depends on whether you occasionally get the opportunity. If you have questions about the job duties and feel they are different from what was discussed in the interview, the supervisor will only tell you, “There may have been a misunderstanding in our communication...” or “This is a great learning opportunity”—in other words, they trick you into joining to answer phone calls.

There is also the matter of salary. During the interview, they will offer a low salary and say it will be adjusted after the probation period based on your abilities... That is also a lie. Basically, after joining, all your coworkers will tell you not to get your hopes up, because they have worked there for more than two years and are still being paid the probationary salary. The annual evaluations are just for show as well. As for performance bonuses, they also use them to keep salaries low, but when it is actually time to pay the bonuses, there are suddenly a whole host of excuses, such as “miscommunication” and “attendance rate”...

As for the supervisors, they know nothing no matter what you ask. It is a family business... you know how that goes. When it comes to reviewing work, they can spend several weeks without reaching a decision, and when they can no longer drag it out, they hastily tell you to just leave it as it is. If something goes wrong, of course it is your fault.

During the interview, the main thing they tell you is that the company benefits are great: no overtime, and as long as you finish your work, you can leave. You know what that really means. I genuinely cannot see what benefits the company has. Even requests for basic stationery (ballpoint pens, pencils) will be rejected; if the coworker next to you has two, they will give you one—everyone has some, so there is no need to buy any. The air conditioning also frequently breaks, and the pantry has only a water dispenser, yet the monthly benefits fee is deducted in full.

Things they will not tell you during the interview:

1. You are fined for being late (a $100 deduction for being 10–20 minutes late, and $200 for being 20–30 minutes late)

2. Being late more than three times results in the perfect-attendance bonus being deducted

3. Taking leave results in the perfect-attendance bonus being deducted

4. Every failure to clock in costs $50, and there is no way to make up the missed clock-in

5. Short skirts and shorts are not allowed (suit skirts and suit shorts are not considered formal attire here)

6. Eating and drinking are not allowed outside the employee cafeteria

7. In summer, you are required to wear the company’s advertising T-shirt every Wednesday, with the company logo printed on the front and the current season’s new products printed on the back
