Pros

Overtime pay

Cons

This was about three years ago. It was the first job I found in Shulin, and I believe the position was some kind of assembly engineer. During the interview, I took a simple test and received notification almost immediately afterward. There was hardly any training for newcomers. I was assigned to a senior employee who had been there for half a year, but I ended up doing miscellaneous errands and never even got to work with anything related to the job’s professional duties. To get straight to the point, I later found out through casual conversation that there were many problems. Although overtime was paid, we worked until one or two in the morning every day. There was also a very senior employee who was harshly reprimanded by the team leader for not working overtime because he had gone to the doctor with a cold. It wasn’t until 10 p.m. on my third day that the team leader taught me something related to the practical aspects of the job, but it was the kind of thing you could only understand after learning the basics. I remember that day I was also handed over to another senior employee, and by the time I returned to my rented place in Shulin, it was already 1 a.m. It’s a little embarrassing to say, but I submitted my resignation the next day. I quit! I heard that several people before me had also resigned after working there for only a short time. Once I realized something was wrong, I decided not to waste any more time there. This really was an extremely exploitative factory, and the supervisors there were not very friendly either. That’s basically how it was.
