Cons

A standard paradise for management—the executives emerge as the biggest winners

Employees are required to work overtime without overtime pay or compensatory leave. Many employees do not get off work until seven or eight o’clock, or even ten o’clock. Pathetic.

CEO’s famous quote: “The customer comes first.”

Once a customer speaks and delivers a chaotic, far-fetched imperial edict, everyone from SALES to RD has to accept it without question. There is no semblance of work processes or workplace culture.

The company’s turnover rate is extremely high. It once reached the milestone of 30% of employees leaving within 30 days. Resigning less than a month after joining is considered normal.

Senior employees in the product department resigned en masse, leaving a rookie newcomer to shoulder the burden.

When looking for talent, the company can only offer bananas, so it attracts a group of monkeys, who then look for more monkeys.

Almost all the talent fled. At that time, fewer than one in ten employees had been there for more than a year.

At employee Q&A events, senior management’s standard opening response is: “We’re not clear, we don’t know, and we’re still looking for answers.”

Today they say, “We’re still in the startup stage, so…”; tomorrow they change their tune to, “We’re no longer a startup, so…” They choose whichever explanation suits the situation.

Their response to the high turnover rate is: “We’re on a fast-moving vehicle; those who can’t keep up will naturally get off.”

Yet they fail to realize that they are driving an overloaded, rapidly scrap-bound old jalopy.

May Heaven bless Zhai Zhuang.
