Here are my thoughts after an online interview lasting over half an hour:
1. Due to the pandemic, the interview was conducted online. Right off the bat, they told me that this is a job that is "very heavily focused on performance, and you need to be able to handle pressure."
2. Basic requirement: At least three and a half hours of call time. The call must actually be connected; unanswered calls do not count.
3. If you do not generate any sales that day (they said 60,000–80,000 is the basic target), you have to work overtime and continue making calls, without overtime pay (if you did not meet the sales target, what overtime pay would you get?).
4. The base salary is 25,000 (before labor and health insurance deductions). There is an evaluation every six months; failing one evaluation means goodbye. They did not say whether severance pay is provided.
5. They asked: What would you do if you encountered setbacks? You have never done telemarketing, so why do you want to enter telemarketing now? Are your strengths suitable for telemarketing? What are your weaknesses? If you lack patience, how would you develop more patience? ... A lot of strange questions.
6. The questions were very short, but the answers were correspondingly difficult.
7. The interviewer talked about sales performance from beginning to end: performance, performance, performance.
8. They did not tell me the result either, but from the conversation it was very clear that the other party was, in their own polite way, telling me: Come back only if you genuinely think you can handle it.
