HR was okay. It felt like a very old company.
The interviewing manager was quite peculiar. I interviewed for the position of Project and Business Development Manager (International). My job search focus (as stated on my résumé) was also on international markets and overseas customers, where I have more experience. After half a day of interviewing, they asked whether I was familiar with domestic channels such as Chunghwa Telecom, AVerMedia, and Far EasTone. What does that have to do with my business development and project management expertise? What does it have to do with my specialization? They explained the project-opening process to me, but it felt like this manager (who was very young) had no idea what they were doing. After questioning me for half a day, they finally said that I was not familiar with the domestic market. The problem is that my résumé clearly states that my experience is with overseas customers and channel customers. So why did you invite me to interview? Why waste both our time?
P.S. Personal impression: I was interviewed by a male manager who kept playing with his hair throughout the half-day interview. My internal reaction was: if this kind of employee is so unprofessional yet can survive for so long, this department must be losing money—unless the boss has money to invest, or they already have very strong customers and sufficient resources. Otherwise, hiring someone like this must be pretty unfortunate.
