There are a bunch of people there who do nothing, or who look for pointless work to do every day. If you just want to coast, it’s a pretty good place to retire.

Never mind all the company’s strange practices—I haven’t been this angry in a long time!

The pandemic was severe, and the company had also allowed some employees to work from home. I was one of the lucky ones who could work from home, and I had been shut inside my own home for almost a month without going out. I was alone, and whenever I needed anything, I ordered delivery. Life was still manageable.

Then the company sent out a notice forcibly requiring employees to return to the office for testing, or they would immediately be suspended and have their pay stopped.

I don’t understand. I had been shut at home for so long—why should I risk traveling all the way to the company, only to have large groups of people gathered there for the company’s testing, further increasing the risk of infection?

Then a bunch of highly paid people from the company left comments under the news story, harshly attacking the employee who exposed it and saying that EBC was a happy company!

So forcing employees to return for screening by suspending them without pay—that’s what they call a happy company!
