Employee benefits: discounts when buying things (no longer available......)
I really can't think of any advantages.
Those considering joining should think carefully about the following issues before deciding whether to accept a position.
1. This is a B2B company. The leadership insists on not entering the consumer (B2C) market, fearing it would damage existing B2B clients. Although it has a really good brand, its vision is very short-sighted, which is truly a shame. The products themselves are useful, but the company always operates with a sales mindset. They constantly talk about innovation, but once you join, you cannot really do anything. You can only follow their old methods. The marketing department has no annual budget, so in reality, they themselves have no strategy or idea of what kind of people they need to help the company.
2. You must maintain a personal social media presence. This is never mentioned during the interview. They care a lot about how many friends or followers you have and require you to maintain your own IG/FB accounts. Every week, you must report whether the number has grown. The supervisor also checks whether you have left comments or likes on other people's Facebook posts. Sometimes, if you do not interact enough on social media, you may be called into the office and lectured for at least two hours. They worry about things they should not worry about, while neglecting things they should care about... I find it extremely strange.
3. The boss may ask you to leave at any time. I have seen many sales employees suddenly being told to resign, which does not comply with the Labor Standards Act at all.
The dismissal is also announced suddenly before the end of the workday, and the date on the non-voluntary separation certificate is deliberately put three days later to evade the Labor Standards Act.
4. People who make it to the second interview should be careful. The boss will demand that you decide on the spot whether you want to work there and will not give you time to think. It is basically emotional blackmail. Also, a lot of time is spent during the interview... You can basically see that meetings are like this too: they waste time and have no focus. Since nobody dares to ask him to get to the point, work efficiency becomes extremely poor.
5. The supervisor is very mood-dependent: one moment something is okay, and the next moment it is not. They hire people hoping they will bring change, but then continue listening to suggestions from people who are not part of the company. It is not that this is necessarily wrong, but in that case, there is no point in hiring people to help, because it only wastes your time and theirs.... After joining, you will find that the work content and workload are fairly manageable. The most time-consuming part is adapting to the supervisor (who is also the boss). The boss may contact you on holidays, and what they talk about may be something like noticing that you have too few Facebook friends or something..... In short, even on days off, it does not feel like you are actually off.
6. During the interview, they will paint an overly rosy picture and give you high expectations, but in reality, there is basically nothing.... They then cite performance from 20 years ago when telling current employees how things used to be here. Also, there is no overtime pay here. They say that salaries are already very high, but when you calculate it, the excess effectively amounts to overtime pay.
Those are the six points in my review. I hope they help everyone. The brand is good, but the internal environment is not. BTW, this is a family-owned business.
