Pros

You don’t have to clock in or out when commuting to and from work; that’s probably the only thing that could be considered an advantage.

Cons

1. During the interview, they went on and on, and I also had to take a pointless aptitude test without knowing what it was for. It took a long time, and HR did indeed come across as frivolous.

2. A week after the interview, HR called me to tell me the start date and asked me to request an offer, saying it would go through the process. However, they later contacted me by email and phone, with HR then explaining that the start date mentioned in the first call was only intended to confirm my “willingness to accept the position” and did not mean I had actually been hired. They said they would ask the supervisor again whether they wanted to hire someone. At that point, I felt this company was completely absurd. This was the first time I had encountered HR calling to notify me of a start date while refusing to issue an offer first, and then later explaining that they only wanted to confirm my willingness to accept the position.

3. During my first two days on the job, my colleagues in the department clearly did not want to train me. Every work-related matter was explained in a disjointed way. On the first day, they even told me to look through the computer and the materials at hand on my own. If it was my first day and I only knew where the restroom was, what computer materials was I supposed to look at—especially if I couldn’t understand the content? On top of that, I was treated in a very unfriendly manner from time to time. They neither knew how to train new employees nor wanted to train them; they only blamed new employees for not figuring things out on their own and for not searching through and comparing the materials on the desk themselves. I asked a colleague whether that was the correct way to do it. They said it was not. After going back and forth four or five times, they finally said, “Sorry, the first way was correct.” Also, everyone in the office communicates through LINE. No matter what you ask, you generally have to use LINE, and you do not get an answer immediately. A single matter may be delayed, resulting in very poor work efficiency. Their way of training newcomers and their attitude completely go against what is normal in other companies and industries. They only assume that the new employee is not good enough, while supervisors simply believe the veterans. In addition, the turnover in various internal departments appears to be very high; new employees may suddenly show up, or the company may suddenly start recruiting on 104.

4. When I went through the resignation procedures, the department supervisor merely said, “Go hand things over to your colleagues,” and showed no interest in hearing the reason for my resignation. I simply left.

Conclusion: OK Mart is not OK. Don’t submit your résumé or go to an interview, so you don’t waste your time or go down the wrong path.
