Applied position: Facilities Engineer

[First interview]

The interview was conducted directly with the supervisor.

The supervisor was very nice and straightforward.

They made it very clear that they did not want to trick anyone into joining and then have them leave after deciding the job was not a good fit.

You could ask any questions you had.

[Interview process:]

Self-introduction, including a request to describe relevant facilities work experience.

At the very beginning, I was asked to introduce myself and include my relevant facilities work experience.

[Position introduction:]

There are two types of positions:

1. Systems Engineer

Fixed systems, factory expansion, equipment abnormalities, fixed duties; no holiday shifts required.

2. Shift Engineer

Replacing gas cylinders, taking meter readings, and handling equipment abnormalities.

I applied for the Systems Engineer position.

(There may be a risk of unemployment in middle age because there is an age limit (not a company requirement).)

[Work conditions:]

Systems Engineer: regular day shift

8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

If covering for a shift engineer, overtime may extend until 8:00 p.m.

Shift Engineer:

Work two days, rest two days.

[Overtime pay:]

Basically, the position operates under a duty-based system and requires being on call.

However, if covering for someone—for example, covering for a shift engineer—you can claim overtime pay.

You can also claim overtime pay if you need to work on holidays.

In accordance with the Labor Standards Act.

However, if you have not finished handling your own tasks, you cannot claim overtime pay.

[Questions:]

[Supervisor] Please describe what facilities work is. What do you think facilities work involves?

[Supervisor] Have you visited our official website?

[Supervisor] How did you learn about the responsibilities of this facilities position?

[Supervisor] What are your career plans?

[Supervisor] How is your job search going so far?

[HR] Which companies have you applied to?

[HR] Where are you from?

Cons

[Possible points to note:]

The handoff between the supervisor and HR during the interview process felt somewhat disorganized.

After my interview with the supervisor, the supervisor told me to interview with HR next.

However, HR was not available online, so I called to inquire about matters related to the salary.
