The security guard was very nice.
Going to this company for an interview for an international trade position was truly a waste of time.
First: The company’s HR is very disorganized.
The position they posted on the job site was for an international trade specialist, but when I arrived for the interview, they said they were looking for a purchasing specialist. I told HR that the posting said international trade, not purchasing, but HR still refused to admit that they had posted the wrong position and insisted that they had posted a purchasing position. As a result, I couldn’t do the written test because I had not prepared for this field.
Second: There were indications of age discrimination.
When looking for candidates on the job site, HR apparently does not review applicants’ résumés before directly inviting them to interviews. It was only after I arrived and finished filling out the application that they learned I had no international trade or purchasing experience. They kept questioning me about this and even told me that changing careers at age 30 was a little too late. I had already listed all my experience on my résumé on the job site. I simply had no international trade or purchasing experience, and I applied precisely because HR had written on the website that experience was not required!
If you receive an interview invitation for a position at this company, remember to confirm by phone first whether the position they posted on the job site is the same as the position they are actually hiring for. Otherwise, you may end up like me, wasting two hours on the interview.
