Pros

Actually, TKB isn’t as terrible as people say online (I’ve been a junior employee here for over three years).

1. Salary and benefits... well... they’re acceptable (I’d also like them to be better and more generous), but since I don’t have a master’s degree and didn’t graduate from a top university, I can accept an annual income of around 400,000–450,000 NTD excluding the year-end bonus.

2. I’m grateful to be in the Central Region. Although we still have to follow some of the head office’s occasionally baffling policies, I have never failed to receive a year-end bonus since joining.

3. The company follows the Labor Standards Act.

4. The work atmosphere is pretty good.

At TKB, I think it’s not as good as the best, but better than the worst. Whether you can accept it depends on the individual~

For those who want to vent their dissatisfaction here, I suggest being more specific—for example, which department? Personally, I think the Central Region is pretty okay~

Cons

1. You may have to stay after work because of work needs (or chat with students on LINE about tutoring-related matters after working hours), but I almost always leave on time. The only times I stay are probably when students need to pay fees or attend trial lessons—after all, I don’t want to hurt my own bonus.

2. The annual company trip is not fully subsidized, but meals or activities that don’t require personal payment come around every two or three months. Personally, I think the activities are genuinely quite fun, especially since the Central Region has an event champion.

3. It’s performance-oriented, and the bonus percentage isn’t high. However, it isn’t difficult to find business, since the students are all at schools.

4. The turnover rate is relatively high. This depends a lot on the unit manager (I can’t criticize them too directly here, since I’m still working here), but there are still several units in the Central Region with more than seven or eight people that are pretty good.
