After staying for a long time, feeling that my self-cultivation is better than the boss’s is also a sense of accomplishment.
To be honest, Chi Wei is an old company with several decades of history, and its salaries are at the low end of the industry. I started at around 40K and, after many years, am still at around 40K. There is absolutely no opportunity or system for adjustments. If a department manager has no influence, they are basically just waiting out retirement from the day they start.
Working at Chi Wei means accepting the 18th-century management culture of the founding husband-and-wife bosses. There are many veteran employees in the company. I don’t dare complain about my 40K salary, because these veteran (fossil-level) employees have worked for 20 or 30 years and earn only 30K, 40K, or 50K. Is this a retirement home?
Chi Wei’s royal relatives and aristocrats start at 50K. Can’t use a computer? No problem~ Insufficient expertise? No problem~ No common sense or basic standards? None of that matters~
Chi Wei is a parasitic family business that lives off the older generation: other people’s salaries are only allowed to be below 50K, while my family members must be given 50K even if they are hopelessly stupid.
Chi Wei’s royal relatives and aristocrats also organize group-buying orders during working hours, openly browse online shopping sites without any scruples, and have no qualms about organizing group purchases to profit from other employees. Employees who aren’t invited even get mocked~ (The company is all yours, and you still profit by selling the gifts meant for us—is money really that tight?!)
When “Give me a non-voluntary resignation letter” becomes a public joke,
what hope does this company have left?
And if you happen to encounter another bizarre manager who cries in front of their subordinates, saying, “I didn’t want to be the bad guy either @#$%^^....”
what hope does this company have left?
