Pros

Start and finish work on time

No clocking in required

You can listen to music during work hours

Managers generally don’t keep a close eye on you

The air conditioning is cold

You can meet many people, but you need to get to know them quickly; otherwise, they’ll leave soon

Cons

There aren’t many places to eat nearby

Many benefits and policies are not well established and may change from one day to the next

The bonus system isn’t transparent enough, and it can feel like certain people receive unusually large amounts of money

Average salaries are relatively low. The company likes hiring fresh graduates, but turnover is high

Managers in the business department have higher expectations, so the pressure is greater

The operations department gets a pile of miscellaneous tasks thrown at it all day and is a department with a lot of overtime

Also, every Friday, someone has to translate a day’s worth of overseas marketing- or industry-related articles. However, each person only has to do this once a month

The salary adjustment system is unclear

It feels like everyone is a good colleague at work, but strangers after work

Overall, though, the boss is fairly easy to communicate with, and it’s already better than many small and medium-sized companies

If you can negotiate a satisfactory salary when you join the company, it’s a place where you can stay for one or two years to build up experience

If the salary is only barely acceptable to you, I think you’d be better off looking for another company directly XD

(As an additional note, the salary includes NT$2,400 for meals and the employee’s share of labor and health insurance premiums. So, for example, if the salary is NT$30,000, leave deductions are calculated based on a basic salary of NT$27,600. However, this is probably more or less how every company calculates it.)

P.S. Relations with colleagues from related companies in the same building aren’t very good
